EGOHEAD WORKSINDEPENDENT APPS

Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 4, 2026

1. Introduction

Welcome to "Klarjahr". We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy applies to our mobile application and explains how we collect, use, disclosure, and safeguard your information when you use our application.

Note for US Residents: This policy is designed to comply with US federal and state laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), where applicable.

3. Data Collection and Storage

We prioritize your privacy. The "Klarjahr" app is architected with a Local-First approach, meaning your sensitive data remains on your device.

4. Device Permissions

Optional features request the permissions they need. Manage permissions in iOS settings. With your authorisation, Apple Health can save mindful minutes; the app does not read health data. Microphone and speech recognition are used for the corresponding recording and speech input features. Purchases are processed by the Apple App Store.

5. Analytics & Third-Party Services

Provider information: Umami privacy policy. Contact support@egoheadworks.com with questions.

6. App analytics with Google Analytics for Firebase

Only with your consent, the app uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand feature usage and improve the app. The app asks once with two equal choices, “Allow” and “Don’t Allow”. Without your consent nothing is collected or stored for this purpose; TestFlight, Xcode and simulator builds never send.

Data includes technical device information, an installation-related identifier and usage events such as screen views, feature actions and session duration. Search events contain query length and result count, not the search text.

No journal content in analytics events: Journal text and attached photos, videos or audio recordings are not sent as analytics events. Pseudonymous identifiers are not the same as fully anonymous data.

Analytics data is processed by Google and may be processed outside the EU. Details: Firebase privacy information.

Purpose: understanding which features are used and improving the app. Legal basis: your consent (§ 25(1) TDDDG and Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) and Google LLC (USA) process the data as our processor; data may be processed in the USA, and Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Event data is kept for the retention period set in Google Analytics (2 or 14 months). No advertising identifier is used and advertising consent stays denied.

You can withdraw your consent at any time in the app settings. Withdrawing stops further collection and resets the analytics identifier on your device; it does not delete data already sent and does not affect the lawfulness of earlier processing.

7. Feedback & GitHub

The app offers an in-app feedback system, through which you can voluntarily send us feedback, bug reports, or suggestions for improvement.

Processing & Storage
The submitted feedback (content as well as technical metadata such as app version, device type, and operating system) is transmitted encrypted to GitHub Inc., USA, and stored there as a private issue in a protected repository. Access is reserved exclusively for the Klarjahr team; public viewing is excluded. Providing a name or email address is optional and voluntary.

Legal Basis
Processing is based on your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR), which you grant by submitting the feedback.

Third Country Transfer
Data processing takes place in the USA. GitHub uses EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) to ensure an adequate level of data protection in accordance with GDPR.

Storage Period & Rights
The feedback is stored as long as it is needed for internal purposes or until you request deletion. You can request information, correction, or deletion of your feedback at any time at: support@egoheadworks.com.

Information for US Users (CCPA)
We do not sell personal data. Feedback serves exclusively for product improvement and support. Non-use of the feedback function does not lead to any restrictions of the app.

Further information on data protection at GitHub can be found in the GitHub Privacy Policy.

8. Your Privacy Rights

Contact support@egoheadworks.com to request access, correction or deletion. Local app data, private iCloud data, feedback and analytics are separate storage areas. Deleting the app does not automatically remove data already synced or submitted.
